Manchester United are open to letting Rasmus Hojlund leave Old Trafford this summer – but not at any cost.
A disappointing return of just four Premier League goals from Rasmus Hojlund in 2024/25 has meant Manchester United are determined to shake up the club’s attack.
With seven clubs interested in Hojlund, Manchester United have told suitors it will cost £40 million to buy the former Atalanta forward.
Inter’s initial enquiry has been a loan with an option to buy, which Manchester United have rejected, only currently keen on a permanent deal. In talks, another possibility has arisen.

Manchester United offered Mehdi Taremi
During discussions between Manchester United and Inter Milan, the Red Devils were offered the chance to sign Mehdi Taremi.
United In Focus understands via transfer insider Graeme Bailey how Taremi was thrown into the mix by intermediaries acting on behalf of Inter Milan, with the Italian side keen to sell the Iran international.
Manchester United’s response was to politely decline the chance to sign Taremi, a striker the club has no intention of signing.
The club’s stance on Rasmus Hojlund remains unaltered, United want a full sale this summer, uninterested in swap proposals.

Taremi has been offered to clubs in Portugal where he remains in high regard after a very successful stint with Porto.
Mehdi Taremi the wrong fit for United
Mehdi Taremi was linked to Manchester United back in 2023 when he decided to leave Porto after scoring 31 goals in 51 games.
Taremi ended up leaving Porto in summer 2024 on a free transfer to sign with Inter Milan, but he has struggled in Italy.
During the 2024-25 season, Taremi has scored only three goals in 43 games, just one in 26 in Serie A.
Manchester United are not looking to sign a striker who scored even fewer goals than Rasmus Hojlund last season, especially one who is 32-years-old.
United continue to explore the striker market and moves will accelerate once a deal for Bryan Mbeumo is completed.
Hojlund is a player some at United still admire, but with sales necessary to buy further players, the Red Devils would likely need to sell him rather than keep the Dane as a backup.
