Fabrizio Romano: 'Killer' star gets green light to travel for Arsenal medical with deal now…

Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard is closing in on a summer move to Arsenal, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Denmark international has reportedly been given permission to travel for his medical at the Emirates, after Arsenal agreed a deal worth around €11m (£9.4m) for the experienced 31-year-old on Wednesday.

Norgaard is set to arrive in north London as a replacement for Thomas Partey, who is expected to depart when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Arsenal are believed to have already agreed personal terms with Norgaard, with a club-to-club agreement also in place.

Romano, writing on X, revealed that Norgaard is edging closer to a move to Arsenal, after Brentford authorised him to travel for a medical:

Norgaard, who joined Brentford from Fiorentina in 2019, became a key player and captain for the Bees under Thomas Frank, who has left to become manager of Tottenham earlier this month.

The 'killer' midfielder was linked with a reunion with his former boss at Spurs, before Arsenal moved quickly to bring him in as Partey’s replacement.

The Gunners are also set to complete the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this week by triggering his £5m release clause and are close to finalising the arrival of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Arsenal will reportedly pay in excess of the Spanish international’s £51m release clause, with a club-to-club agreement already sealed.
