Almost every Arsenal fan now has an opinion on whether they’d like either Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres to arrive at the Emirates this summer.
Arsenal are in the market for a striker and both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are seen as the most credible alternatives to Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
In an ideal world, Mikel Arteta would simply sign Isak to spearhead Arsenal’s title-charge next season, but Newcastle are understandably determined to keep their star striker.
And if anything, Liverpool would be favourites to sign Isak if he did suddenly become available in the coming months.
Therefore, Andrea Berta and Arteta seem to have taken a realistic approach to target either Sesko or Gyokeres, with moves underway for both strikers right now.
Arsenal would rather sign Benjamin Sesko if things go to ‘plan’
That being said, trusted journalist Sami Mokbel just delivered a definitive answer to the question all Arsenal fans are wondering right now, ‘Sesko or Gyokeres?’
Speaking on the Latte Firm podcast, Mokbel said that if ‘everything went according to plan’ Arsenal would prefer to sign Sesko this summer.
The journalist explained that it wasn’t clear which deal would be more likely or feasible right now, but if it came strictly down to preference of player, Sesko would be the one.
Mokbel explained: “If everything went according to plan, and they were to get the player they wanted to get, it would be Sesko.

“But things in football often don’t go the way that you hope, in terms of price, in terms of personal terms, and I still genuinely believe up until today that there isn’t a clear favourite in terms of who they can realistically obtain.
“I think if you were to take a vote inside Arsenal, of the people who matter, I think there would be more universal backing for a move for Sesko than there is for Gyokeres.
“But as far as I know, both of those deals are being worked on, so they can be in a position to execute when they have a full grasp of the exact numbers involved.
“There is an element of spinning plates there and Andrea Berta is actually quite renowned for that.”
Sesko was right to reject Arsenal last summer
Of course, fans in N5 won’t forget that Sesko rejected Arsenal last summer in preference of one more year in the Bundesliga.
And whilst some might see that as an opportunity to be somewhat salty towards the 22-year-old, it should actually be a decision that is praised.
Sesko has made more steady progress in Germany over the last 12 months and he would now be ready to make an impact in north London.

Had the Slovenian arrived last summer, it might have actually been a bit much, too soon.
Expectations are high at Arsenal right now and any striker coming in will need to hit the ground running in order to avoid a barrage of criticism.
And 12 months on from saying no to Arsenal, Sesko now seems ready to make his mark under Arteta, hence his ‘universal backing’ at the club.
