Watch: Bryant Talks San Antonio

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Arizona freshman Carter Bryant realized one of his childhood dreams on Wednesday night when he was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft at the Barclays Center.

"(Carter) is super versatile," said Spurs General Manager Brian Wright. "He's a big wing who we think can guard four positions and he spaces the floor well. He's a really good athlete, a smart young kid. He's got the right character that we look for. We think he adds a new dimension to this team going forward."

Bryant becomes the 80th player in Arizona history to be selected in the NBA Draft. He is the 17th Wildcat selected in the lottery, the 28th first round pick in program history and the fifth draft pick for head coach Tommy Lloyd in his four seasons at Arizona.

Arizona has history with the San Antonio Spurs organization, as Bryant is the fifth Wildcat to be drafted by the Spurs. The list includes:

Jerome Gladney – 1977 (164th overall)

Sean Elliott – 1989 (3rd overall)

Robertas Javtokas – 2001 (56th overall)

Marcus Williams – 2007 (33rd overall)

Carter Bryant – 2025 (14th overall)

Arizona legend and current Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also played for the Spurs and won two NBA Championships in 1999 and 2003.

Bryant appeared in all 37 games for the Wildcats in 2024-25, helping Arizona to an appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament and the title game of the Big 12 Tournament. He avereaged 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in Big 12 play while shooting 50.5% from the floor and 38% from the 3-point line. He was also one of five true freshmen in the country to reach 200 points, 35 assists, 35 steals and 35 blocked shots during the season.

Round two of the 2025 NBA Draft takes place Thursday starting at 5:00 p.m. MST on ESPN, where Caleb Love and Trey Townsend will look to hear their names called.
