Leeds United’s search for a new goalkeeper has become quite frantic in the last week or so, as reports of Illan Meslier’s pending Elland Road exit really ramp up.
Leeds United have kickstarted their summer transfer window by announcing the signing of Jaka Bijol, along with Lukas Nmecha who become the first two signings of what promises to be a very active summer at Elland Road.
And many fans are now speculating that a goalkeeper could be next to arrive. But which goalkeeper that will be remains to be seen. Leeds United have been linked with a number of goalkeepers already this summer, with Illan Meslier looking set to leave.
In the last week, Meslier has been strongly linked with a move to Turkey where Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are understood to be exploring a move for the Frenchman.
Should Meslier leave before a replacement is brought in then it could quickly start to worry Daniel Farke, who then might want to bring in two new goalkeepers for his Leeds United side ahead of next season.

Marcin Bulka is a new name who Leeds United have asked about
There’s now a new goalkeeper to add to the list of shot-stoppers who Farke likes: Marcin Bulka. The five-cap Polish international is set to leave Ligue 1 side Nice this summer, ahead of his contract expiring in the summer of 2026, and Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Sunderland are in talks to sign the 25-year-old.
Elsewhere, a report from French outlet L’Equipe has revealed Bulka has ‘already received requests from Galatasaray’, along with Leeds, it seems. L’Equipe write that Bulka ‘wasn’t enamoured by the idea of joining Leeds’ this summer, adding that the Whites had ‘made inquiries’ to sign him this summer.
This is the first concrete link between Bulka and Leeds United. But it looks like one that fans can already forget about.

The latest on Leeds United’s search for a new goalkeeper
Of all the goalkeepers linked with a move to Elland Road this summer, it seems like Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale might be the one who’s most closely linked right now.
Leeds United have been interested in Ramsdale throughout the year. Ramsdale is expected to leave Southampton this summer, but the Saints might yet push for a loan exit, in the hope that they can make an immediate return to the Premier League under Will Still next season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic is another name to keep an eye on. There seems to be a lot of frustration about his current situation at Stamford Bridge having recently been exiled from the club’s Club World Cup squad.
Chelsea are eager to sell Petrovic this summer, and the Serbian international is keen to leave, with Leeds United mentioned as a possible destination.
But like with this Bulka rumour, expect there to be a number of goalkeepers who Leeds United are making checks on, but whose name hasn’t made it into the media just yet.
