Brentford have made concrete progress over a move for Feyenoord’s Antoni Milambo, after working on this operation for more than a month.
Two days ago, the 20-year-old dropped a hint that he’s about to join the Premier League side this summer.
According to Algemeen Dagblad, the attacking midfielder is ‘leaving for Brentford’ and the Dutch club will earn €20m plus €5m in bonuses from his sale.
AD state he’s been attracting a lot of interest, and the Bees have been in a rush to secure his services.
Milambo has been with the Netherlands U21 at the Euros but they knocked out on Wednesday evening by England. Brentford want to ‘complete the deal quickly’.
1908.nl, a website reliable for Feyenoord related news, backs up AD’s report and shares a few more details.
Their title says Milambo’s move to the English club is ‘nearing completion’ and within the report, they state the transfer is ‘as good as completed’. The Eredivisie side will earn €20m plus a maximum bonus of €5m.
According to the report, the two clubs are in the final phase of the negotiations, meaning they’re sorting out the last details. They further add ‘only the formalities and medical examination’ are standing in the way of Milambo’s permanent move to Brentford.
