Manchester United are trying to sell several players this summer to raise funds for additional transfers.
Ruben Amorim knows Manchester United have a lot to prove after a turbulent 2024/25 campaign.
The Red Devils lost the Europa League final and finished 15th in the Premier League as Amorim endured a difficult first six months at Old Trafford.
One of the biggest issues for United was scoring goals, and Amorim is looking to address that in the transfer window after adding Matheus Cunha to his squad. Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo could be next to join the Brazil international by making a Premier League switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
United fans sometimes keep an eye out for moves concerning former players, too. Cristiano Ronaldo’s future was up in the air, but he won’t be leaving Al-Nassr this summer.
A new deal could see the former United star gain a greater influence at the Saudi Pro League club.

Cristiano Ronaldo deal could benefit Manchester United
Despite leaving Old Trafford under a grey cloud in 2022, after a falling out with Erik ten Hag, Ronaldo may be able to help his former club in the future.
Ronaldo has a connection with United head coach Amorim after the pair were teammates in the Portugal national team.

Anyhow, Ronaldo has been granted an unprecedented level of influence at Al-Nassr after becoming the “main decision-maker” for their transfers this summer.
That is according to Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna, who claims Ronaldo received guarantees that Al-Nassr will compete in the summer transfer window.

That means the 40-year-old will have a big say in identifying targets to bring to the Saudi Pro League.
United have several players linked with moves to the Middle East, including Andre Onana, but it will depend on whether Ronaldo is in favour of such a move.
Opportunity for Casemiro to join Al-Nassr
Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the past.
Aged 33, Amorim may feel it’s time to move on from Casemiro, but that would require finding a replacement for the experienced Brazilian.
Casemiro proved his importance in Amorim’s side towards the end of the 2024/25 season, even though results were dire and United failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Ronaldo and Casemiro have a good relationship from their time at Real Madrid, where they won the lot, and they could rekindle that bond at Al-Nassr.
Ineos will likely want to get Casemiro off the wage bill and there are other players they would happily sell for a fortune to Al-Nassr.
