Arsenal Strengthen Backline with Liverpool Full Back

[Tom Garry](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jun/25/liverpool-wsl-taylor-hinds-to-join-arsenal-champions-league-football) (The Guardian) reports that Taylor Hinds will sign for Arsenal on a free transfer from Liverpool. Her contract with the Reds expires this month, and she will return to the Gunners, having previously come through Arsenal’s youth system. Hinds made her senior debut for the club in 2017.

A year later, she moved to Everton, where she spent two seasons before joining Liverpool. During her five years at Liverpool, Hinds helped the team gain promotion to the Women’s Super League and contributed to their top-four finish in their second season back in the top flight. Although she was offered a new deal by Liverpool, Hinds has set her sights on playing for a [Women’s Champions League](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-champions-league/) team.

With Champions League football secured for next season, Arsenal are set to compete in four competitions. The addition of Taylor Hinds brings further experience to the backline and provides head coach Renée Slegers with greater squad depth and rotation options.

According to Kathryn Batte, both London City Lionesses and Aston Villa have submitted bids for Freya Godfrey. The attacking midfielder joined Arsenal at the age of 12 and made her senior debut in May 2023 against Brighton, signing her first professional contract just a month later.

Freya Godfrey has spent time on loan at Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic, and most recently London City Lionesses, where she gained valuable playing time and experience.

On the international stage, she has represented England from the U14 level all the way up to the U23s, captaining the U19 squad during the Women’s EUROs. In 2024, she earned her first call-up to the U23 national team.
