£5m January Celtic Target Now Available – Report

Aston Villa are ready to sell Louie Barry, after Celltic looked to lure the striker to Glasgow in January.

But, Celtic appear unlikely to reignite talks this summer, despite earlier interest.

In January, the Parkhead side were reportedly poised to submit a seven-figure bid, potentially up to £5 million, to bring the 22-year-old winger to Glasgow as a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi. Negotiations were undertaken, and Barry was even offered a new contract by Villa, but ultimately the deal fell through. Aston Villa weren’t keen to sell the player either. It’s not leaving them a lot of time to get a deal done.

HullLive reports that Villa are prepared to sell the striker, who spent the season out on loan, before Monday, in the hope that they fall on the right side of the strict PSR regulations.

Now, for Celtic, attention has already shifted elsewhere. Callum Osmand is set to join the club this summer. Sources suggest a medical has been completed and a deal is also been agreed.

CeltsAreHere have been following the deal closely, breaking the news initially.

He is someone that is expected to come into the first team, not the B Team, after an impressive season in the Premier League 2.
