Liverpool player ‘fired up’ for transfer – Meeting yesterday with agent over Reds exit

Over the past couple of weeks, the Italian press has made varying claims about Liverpool’s valuation for striker Darwin Nunez.

According to some sections of the media, their asking price is around €70m. According to others, it is much lower and closer to how much Napoli are offering for the Uruguayan.

Corriere dello Sport have it at less than €70m, and cover the potential transfer today.

They believe the Reds want £50m (€58.6m) to sell Nunez and attempts are ongoing from Napoli and intermediaries to reduce that amount. Three meetings have been held with the Uruguay international’s agent Fali Ramadani, and the latest one took place yesterday.

Contact between the two parties has become more frequent since the 26-year-old opened up to the possibility of joining Napoli, with sporting director Giovanni Manna having played a key role in first initiating an approach.

Nunez is said to be ‘fired up’ by the idea of playing under Antonio Conte and sees Napoli as a chance to redeem himself after a frustrating season at Liverpool.
