Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has said it would "mean a lot" to join Manchester United this summer amid reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old Nigeria international has been linked with a move to United recently after scoring 23 goals in 45 appearances for Belgian club Genk across all competitions last season.

United, who are closing in on the signing of Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo, are desperate to add a striker to their ranks this summer to beef up their attack.

They installed Liam Delap as their top target prior to the start of the transfer window but have since missed out on his signature to Premier League rivals Chelsea. He was available via a £30million release clause after Ipswich Town were relegated to the Championship.

Arokodare has become the latest striker to be linked with a move to Old Trafford after an impressive 2024/25 campaign saw him chalk up 30 direct goal contributions. And he has admitted he is a United fan and that it is his "dream" to play in the Premier League.

"Obviously, it's a dream to play in the Premier League, but I have my eyes on it for sure," Arokodare told Sports Boom.

"Whatever options I have, I'll take my time and make the best decision.

"I'm a Manchester United fan, and if it happens, it would mean a lot to me and my family. Of course, it would be a dream come true."

Since joining Genk in January 2023, Arokodare has scored a respectable 40 goals in 108 appearances. He has also racked up 12 assists.
