Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has said that the Gunners need to sign someone to replace Bukayo Saka if he gets injured.
Last season, one of the biggest mistakes that Arsenal made was that they didn’t have enough depth in attacking areas. One position of concern was Saka’s right-wing spot.

The England international suffered a hamstring injury which kept him out for at least three months, which led many to blame their loss of the Premier League title on the fact that their star man was out.
However, former Arsenal defender William Gallas believes that this is no excuse, and that Mikel Arteta needs to sign a replacement for Saka. He told GoonerNews exclusively via Genting Casino: “Last season, we saw what happened, and I spoke with my friends who support Arsenal. I said to them that it was one more season without a major trophy.
“Their first answer was ‘oh yeah, but Saka was injured’. I said it doesn’t matter. The season is long, and every team had injuries. Liverpool, Manchester City… you need to have the right players in your squad. If your best players get injured, you need to be ready because it can happen to anyone at any time. And as we saw for Arsenal, when it happens things can get difficult.
“I think if they are serious about winning the league, they need to buy the right players and have the right amount of depth. That’s what I expect from them, and I know I’m not the only one. Everyone is looking to see what they do in the transfer market.”
4 wingers that Arsenal could sign to replace Saka
The Gunners have been linked to several wingers this summer, many of them are more confident on the left-hand side amid rumours that Gabriel Martinelli could leave for Bayern Munich.
However, Real Madrid star Rodrygo has emerged as a priority target, although it is expected that the Brazilian international will cost the Gunners over £70m. Furthermore, Mohammed Kudus from West Ham has also been linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea.
He would likely be a more doable signing, but the Gunners would have competition to land the Ghana international, which could make it a tricky task. Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has also been linked, he could provide a more experienced backup, something that could be useful for a league title push.
Finally, Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is also reportedly in talks with the Gunners over a move. Seeing as he is a similar player in terms of style to Saka, Madueke could make a worthy backup. However, it is unlikely that the Blues would be willing to sell him to a Premier League rival.
The other though is whether signing a world class winger such as Rodrygo, could provide Saka with some competition too, something that could get even more out of the Arsenal talisman.
