The inspiration behind Everton’s 25/26 home kit release as subtle details emerge

As excitement builds for the new season, Everton have released their new home shirt for the 2025/26 campaign.

Everton are preparing for what is hoped to be a season of rejuvenation under The Friedkin Group.

Ambitious transfer plans are being put in place as a budget of £100m is in place, with a potential £33m swoop for Thierno Barry remaining the priority.

Fans will hope Barry dons the new Everton strip, which was released on Thursday morning, as the traditional blue has a new look.

The real inspiration behind Everton’s 25/26 kit release

Moyes can turn his second stint on Merseyside into the new chapter Evertonians deserve after years of pain and suffering.

The Friedkins’ master plan will hopefully come to fruition this summer, as Kenny Tete’s transfer to Everton looks to be an astute piece of business, and more signings like this will be welcomed.

But to bring this plan to the table will also need a kit worthy of success, and the new release might split Everton fans’ opinions.

Although this may be the case, the true meaning behind the kit’s design means so much more, as the minor details prove how much work has gone into this new release.

The club states that: “The shirt, featuring a mesmeric patterned ‘wave’, takes inspiration from the royal blue Mersey that provides the backdrop for the Club’s stunning new waterfront home.”

When Everton will wear the new home shirt for the first time

The kit exemplifies this new era of Everton as the Bramley-Moore Dock gets a major shoutout.

With the kit now in place, new additions can have the opportunity to wear the royal blue of Everton.

To have inspiration from the banks of the River Mersey is a brilliant way for the owners to show their true commitment to this ambitious project.

With pre-season just around the corner, the Toffees’ first game away to Accrington Stanley on the 15th of July will see the new kit in action for it’s maiden voyage.

Whether the following friendly against Blackburn Rovers will as well is another question, with the potential new away kit getting a run out instead.
