"I think it was [a fitting way to finish], taking into account the season it's been," he told MUTV's Liam Bradford. "But the perfect finish to my three years at United.
"It's been special. So, yeah, to go out with a goal and a win, and a bit of smile on everyone's faces, was really nice."
The 33-year-old bids farewell with two winners' medals around his neck as part of the squads that lifted the Carabao Cup and the Emirates FA Cup in consecutive seasons under Erik ten Hag; those triumphs making for some of the Dane's greatest memories in a red shirt.
"There's been a lot of good memories, a lot of special games, a lot of special people I've met in my time here," Eriksen continued. "Two trophies and, in between that, a few finals as well.
