Out-of-favour Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has reportedly given his approval for a move to Fenerbahçe, signaling a potential new chapter in his career following a challenging four-year spell at Old Trafford. The English international is actively seeking a new club in the summer transfer window according to Evening Standard [via Yahoo].

Sancho’s time at Manchester United has been marred by inconsistent performances and a well-publicized falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag. He spent the entirety of last season on loan at Chelsea, where he had hoped to make the move permanent.

However, discussions for a permanent transfer ultimately broke down, reportedly due to the player’s reluctance to compromise on his substantial wage demands. Napoli had also shown interest in acquiring Sancho, offering him the chance to reunite with former United teammate Scott McTominay, but they too encountered the same obstacle regarding his salary.

Now, it appears Sancho could be set for a switch to Turkey, with reports suggesting he has agreed personal terms with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe. The 28-time Turkish champions are actively in the market for a new winger after Allan Saint-Maximin, formerly of Newcastle, returned to his parent club Al-Ahli following an uninspiring loan spell.

Turkish outlet Sabah claims that the agreed contract for Sancho is valued at £8.5 million per year, which equates to approximately £163,000 per week. With personal terms reportedly settled, Fenerbahçe has now turned its attention to negotiating with Manchester United, lodging a bid of £15 million. This offer is reportedly slightly below United’s stated asking price of £17 million.

Despite his struggles for consistent form at Manchester United, Sancho showed flashes of his undeniable talent during his loan spell at Chelsea last season.

He registered five goals and 10 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, notably scoring Chelsea’s fourth goal in their Europa Conference League final victory over Real Betis. He has since returned to Manchester United’s Carrington training ground but is expected to miss the club’s pre-season tour of the United States if a move is not finalized before their departure.

This potential transfer offers Sancho an opportunity to revitalize his career in a new league under a renowned manager in Jose Mourinho.
