Why Everton's 2025/26 kit launch may have just given David Moyes a major £70m transfer boost -…

Everton’s new 2025/26 home kit has been officially unveiled, and it’s receiving mixed opinions.

Whilst many are liking the wave pattern inspired by the banks of the River Mersey, Everton fans have been critical of the Stake sponsor appearing again.

They won’t actually be allowed to be on the front of the kit starting from the 2026/27 season because the Premier League will prohibit gambling sponsors.

So this is the final season with Stake before the Friedkin Group must negotiate a new deal with different front-of-shirt sponsors.

Another key talking point has come from the kit launch and it could actually give David Moyes a £70m Everton transfer boost.

Jarrad Branthwaite has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United this summer transfer window.

After another stellar season with the Toffees, winning the club’s Player of the Year Award, interest in his signature has mounted.

It was reported earlier this year that Branthwaite was considering leaving Everton after missing out on Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

He felt he may need to move on to a Champions League club in order to put himself in Tuchel’s thinking ahead of the World Cup.

But those rumours have since gone quiet and now, in perhaps the biggest hint of all, Branthwaite has featured in the new kit launch, which is usually a good indicator that a player is staying.

That’s a major boost to Moyes and his staff, who must surely have been concerned at one stage that they may lose the £70m-rated defender.

Everton in talks to extend Branthwaite’s contract

Branthwaite’s current contract on Merseyside is due to expire in 2027, so evidently there is a pressing need to tie him down to fresh terms.

We understand Branthwaite is in talks to sign a new Everton deal and discussions are now ‘accelerating’. The club are confident of announcing his extension before the start of the new season.

It has been mooted that a release clause could be included, but indeed, given their previous £70m valuation, it could well surpass that figure.

There is a belief around Finch Farm that Branthwaite will become one of Europe’s best, so it’d be a massive coup to retain his signature.
