Manchester United’s summer rebuild is gathering pace as Ruben Amorim sets his sights on revamping a squad that underperformed badly last season.
After a dismal 15th-place finish in the Premier League and a Europa League final defeat, the Portuguese head coach is eager to trim the deadwood and raise funds through player sales.
United have already landed Matheus Cunha and are close to securing Bryan Mbeumo, but more exits are needed to meet Financial Fair Play demands and support further arrivals.

While the focus remains on bolstering midfield and defensive areas, United’s attention is also turning to their inconsistent forward line, particularly one player who failed to deliver in front of goal.
Rasmus Hojlund may be the next to depart Old Trafford, with Manchester United now open to letting him leave this summer — but only for the right price.
United have placed a £40 million valuation on the Danish striker, who endured a difficult 2024/25 campaign, scoring just four Premier League goals.
Seven clubs are said to be tracking Hojlund’s situation, including Inter Milan, who recently approached United about a possible loan deal with an option to buy — an offer that was swiftly rejected by the English side.

During those discussions, intermediaries working on behalf of Inter Milan reportedly offered Mehdi Taremi to Manchester United as part of a potential swap arrangement, as per United in Focus.
United, however, immediately turned down the proposal.
The Iranian international, who signed for Inter last summer on a free transfer after a prolific spell at Porto, has struggled in Serie A — scoring just three goals in 43 appearances last season.
Despite Mehdi Taremi being previously linked with United in 2023, the 32-year-old is no longer considered a viable option, with the club uninterested in adding a forward with worse stats than Hojlund.
United remain adamant that if Hojlund is to depart, it must be via a permanent sale.
While some within the club still see potential in the young striker, his sale could be key to unlocking further transfers.
The situation will continue to evolve, especially as United look to finalise their move for Mbeumo before ramping up efforts to reshape the attack ahead of pre-season.
