West Ham United are this afternoon being linked with a move for Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott.
The report comes via TalkSPORT commentator [Ben Jacobs](https://x.com/JacobsBen), following Elliott’s superb performance for England U21s in last night’s European Championship semi-final win over the Netherlands.
However, if West Ham want to land the Three Lions hero, they’ll have to act fast. Brighton & Hove Albion are believed to be close to agreeing a £40 million deal with Liverpool to take the 22-year-old to the South Coast.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are looking to recoup funds after a strong early transfer window, and the title winning Anfield boss has openly admitted that Elliott deserves more regular game time.
The former Fulham academy star, who grew up in Chertsey, has been one of Lee Carsley’s standout performers as England’s U21s march toward the final. His trickery, creativity, and attacking flair have caught the eye—and he now finds himself in high demand.
A return to London could presumably appeal to Elliott, but interest is fierce. Now would be the perfect time for West Ham’s owners to step in, inject some of their own money, and sign a player who could instantly lift the mood around the [London Stadium](https://www.claretandhugh.info/london-stadium-bio/).
