Liverpool have already been very busy in the transfer market this summer, with the Anfield outfit looking to bolster their ranks for the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Indeed, the Reds were one of the most dominant teams in the top flight last term, with hardly any of their opponents being much of a match for them, that is, until the tail-end of the campaign, of course.
Nobody expected Arne Slot to lead Liverpool to the title at the first time of asking, but it’s clear that he came to Merseyside with a plan that was executed perfectly.

And now, after the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz have been confirmed, Milos Kerkez looks likely to be the next one to get a deal over the line.
Edu Rubio believes Milos Kerkez is a ‘unique’ player due to his defensive ability
One of the main areas within Liverpool’s first-team squad that needed strengthening this summer was their left-back.
While both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas put in some solid performances, it felt like one of the weakest areas within Slot’s squad.
So, it isn’t a surprise to see Kerkez’s £40million move teetering on the edge of completion.
With the Hungary international set to join, former West Ham United coach Edu Rubio has given his verdict on the left-back.

“Milos Kerkez is a fantastic and a much-needed addition to Liverpool’s squad. He is versatile; he can play left-back, left wing-back and even left centre-back,” Rubio said to BBC Sport.
“He has got great potential to grow even further on; yet Andy Robertson still has better offensive stats than him. Maybe because of the context/teams, etc, but his numbers show his attacking input is remarkably good.
“Kerkez’s solid defensive stats and his physical aptitude can offer Arne Slot a different option down the left flank. They are both excellent full-backs, but they are both different and unique.
“Milos’ interceptions and clearances stats show he can make Liverpool even more difficult to break.
“Offensively, his ball progressive carries is very good, which can help his team penetrate into the opposition’s half faster, aggressively and efficiently.”

Who are the other players Liverpool could end up bringing in this summer
As has been made very clear from their moves in the transfer market already, Liverpool are out to retain the Premier League title.
The Reds have already added Wirtz and Frimpong to their ranks, which are two other positions within their squad that needed filling.
And, although this is already a lot of change for Liverpool in a transfer window, it doesn’t feel like they’re stopping there, as plenty of other players have also been linked.
Two of the main positions that could still do with strengthening this summer are their centre-back and striker.
Although Slot has Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk at his disposal, across a season, a team needs at least two players per position to help offset things such as injuries.
Which is why the likes of Marc Guehi have recently been linked.
The Englishman only has a year left on his deal at Selhurst Park, which means that, if Crystal Palace don’t sell him this summer, he’ll be able to leave on a free transfer by the end of the campaign.

However, since this is a genuine possibility, the Eagles may need to sell him for a cut-rate fee to make teams want to pay for him.
Guehi is just one of the many players who have been linked with Liverpool over the last few weeks, but with over two months of the window left to go, the rumours aren’t likely to slow down any time soon.
