Barcelona president Laporta confirms imminent player sale

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has this week confirmed that a member of the club’s first-team ranks is all set to depart the club this summer.

The player in question? Ansu Fati.

Wide-man Ansu has of course long been linked with a departure from Catalunya’s capital.

Fresh off another underwhelming campaign on the books of Barcelona, Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco have been actively working on the 22-year-old’s signing for several weeks now.

After a couple of hitches along the way, the transfer is now considered to be very much back on track, with Ansu primed to make the move to the Stade Louis II on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Plan for medical this week confirmed: Ansu will travel tomorrow and undergo medical later this week.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Wednesday evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the ongoing chatter surrounding Ansu’s name was put to the aforementioned Joan Laporta.

And Barca’s president did not hesitate in confirming:

“If everything goes well this week we could have very good news for Ansu Fati, he’s set to join AS Monaco.”
