Christian Norgaard is close to joining Arsenal.
The Denmark international is set to arrive from Brentford in a deal worth an initial £10m, providing Mikel Arteta with a new central midfielder after Jorginho left for Flamengo.
Andrea Berta made swift progress over Norgaard – the entire saga barely lasted a full day – and the Italian is already focusing on another signing for Arsenal, one he did groundwork on while employed by Atletico Madrid before his move to north London in March.

FC Inter News now state that Arsenal are keen to sign the Brazil international from Inter Milan, although Atletico Madrid are also interested.
The Italian news outlet claim that Berta made plenty of notes on Augusto while working as Director of Football at the Wanda Metropolitano, and Atletico Madrid remain interested despite losing the 53-year-old to Arsenal in March.
However, the man born in Brescia has taken his information on the Inter Milan No.30 with him to north London, and is now considering a move for the South American.
An agreement will be tough to find, though, as FC Inter News write that Inter Milan have no intention of selling Augusto this summer, and it would require a €30m (£26m) bid to tempt the Italian giants into reconsidering that stance.
The 26-year-old made 49 appearances last season as Inter Milan reached the UEFA Champions League final, scoring three goals while also providing seven assists.
Mikel Arteta would just have another Riccardo Calafiori in Carlos Augusto
While Berta clearly likes Augusto, Arteta might push back on this signing.
The Brazilian is used as a left-back and also a central defender at Inter Milan, boasting a similar skillset to that of Riccardo Calafiori, who Arsenal only signed from Bologna last summer for £42m.

Statistics website FBREF interestingly name the Italy international as the most similar player to Augusto in Europe.
Arteta also has Myles Lewis-Skelly, who is close to signing a new contract, as an option to play either on the left or centrally, so it would not appear to be a wise use of £26m if Berta makes a bid for the versatile Inter Milan star, despite doing plenty of homework on the player in Madrid.
