Rio Ferdinand is often outspoken about his thoughts on Manchester United, and this is no different during the transfer window.
This summer, Rio Ferdinand has had plenty to say about several of the transfers Manchester United have been linked with completing.
United’s first signing of the summer was Matheus Cunha, who arrived from Wolves for £62.5m. Ferdinand has hopes that Cunha can break United’s cycle of new signings struggling to cope at Old Trafford.
Another name that the United legend had big thoughts about was Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede is a striker target for United, but Ferdinand is not convinced by Gyokeres.
In addition, Ferdinand has told United to sign Victor Osimhen to strengthen up front. Now, Ferdinand has shared his stance on an impending United signing.

Rio Ferdinand speaks on Manchester United signing Bryan Mbeumo
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand has now been discussing Bryan Mbeumo and his excitement over the potential signing of the Cameroonian forward.
“If they get Mbeumo, I’ll be very happy. He wants to come, I know it”, Ferdinand explained to his co-host.
“His stats over the last three seasons in the Premier League are up there, by the way, goals and assists, goal chances, ridiculous.

“Another proven Premier League player, this is what I like, no adjustment business.”
Ferdinand is right to suggest that Mbeumo is one of the best forwards in the Premier League. The output he has shown in recent seasons explains why Mbeumo was tipped as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah replacement.
Manchester United are signing one of the best players in the Premier League
Before this summer, there was just one player at United who could be considered among the league’s best in his position. However, after Ineos’ June double swoop, there are three.
Mbeumo was named in Gary Neville’s team of the season for 24-25. After scoring 20 Premier League goals and providing eight assists, it is clear that the only right winger better than Mbeumo in the league right now is Salah.
So Mbeumo starts for 19 teams in the league, and he could be about to get even better when given the platform at United.

In addition, Cunha is also a player who starts for at least 90 per cent of the league after scoring 15 goals and six assists in the Premier League last season, which has him ranked as one of the best number 10s in the country right now.
These two, along with Bruno Fernandes, could single-handedly be enough to rocket United up the league table. It is time to get excited.
