There are some transfers that rather seem to come out of nowhere. Milos Kerkez’ move to join [Liverpool](https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/) from Bournemouth in a £40M deal is not one of those transfers, with the 21-year-old left back considered a lock to join the Reds for months now.
Official, though, is still a mighty big step, no matter how certain things seem. And today it’s official. Milos Kerkez is Liverpool’s newest signing after the Reds and Bournemouth agreed a £40M deal and the player passed his medical and put pen to paper.
Kerkez has been heavily linked with Liverpool for much of 2025, and the player—brought to Bournemouth in 2023 from AZ Alkmaar by current Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes—has been mentioned as a possibility back into the autumn.
While there is yet to be any kind of official confirmation of the fee, it’s been widely been reported to be in the region of £40M, which given Kerkez’ talent and that he signed at Bournemouth two years ago for £18M doesn’t seem unreasonable.
His arrival follows the signings of right back Jeremie Frimpong and superstar attacker Florian Wirtz, both from Bayer Leverkusen, and it will likely lead to one of Liverpool’s current left backs moving on from the club now in search of playing time.
Previously, most speculation had assumed starter Andy Robertson would compete for the starting role with Kerkez while Kostas Tsimikas moved on, but recent rumours linking Robertson with [Atletico Madrid](https://www.intothecalderon.com) have hinted at a different answer.
