Report: Everton plot move for 'clinical' winger who destroyed Liverpool last season in…

Everton’s attack is being targeted by the recruitment team as the main area for improvement this summer.

Finding the back of the net has proven a problem for David Moyes and other managers over recent years on Merseyside.

With the window having been opened for around a month, Everton are yet to really delve into the market aside from signing Carlos Alcaraz permanently.

Everton are expected to make signings from July as the Friedkins await the new PSR window to open next month.

Although that is certainly a smart financial move, the Toffees do not have a great deal of time on their hands as so many positions need addressing in the market.

And there is one forward whom the Toffees could now eye on a ‘bargain’ deal this summer, having tracked him for a while now.

Everton could strike cut-price Johan Bakayoko deal

With attacking firepower on the radar, Everton are closing in on signing Thierno Barry, with a deal potentially being sealed in the coming days.

But there is more than just a new striker needed on Merseyside as Moyes is also keen to sign a new winger.

According to The Athletic, Everton could make a move for PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko later this summer.

Feeling this summer is that Everton need at least 1 right winger, maybe 2. Had Jan deals lined up for Nuamah & Fellows but decided not to pull trigger after wins under Moyes eased relegation fears

Everton have long-term interest in Bakayoko, who could be available on a ‘bargain’ deal as his future may well lie away from the Eredivisie.

It was not the best season for Bakayoko, but he did impress in the Champions League against Liverpool by giving Andy Robertson a difficult evening.

Although the winger’s stock is said to have decreased over the last 12 months, he still holds a lot of potential that would excite Everton fans.

Everton have lost Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom following the end of their loan deals on Merseyside.

A player like Bakayoko could be the perfect replacement for the right-wingers as clubs recognise he is now in the final year of his deal.

Everton fans want players who will lift them off their seats at the new stadium, having already been treated to Iliman Ndiaye’s ability.

The report hails Bakayoko as ‘clinical’ and a player who holds a lot of pace and flair, which could cause a lot of excitement at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Harrison and Lindstrom struggled to provide much for Everton in an attacking sense last season.

Of course, Everton need to add goals, but Bakayoko could certainly inject some excitement if nothing else down the right-hand side.
