Everton have ‘intensified’ transfer talks – Club willing to negotiate on payment terms

Everton have ‘intensified’ their efforts to sign Thierno Barry, especially now that France’s U21’s have concluded their participation in the Under-21 European Championship.

That’s according to Marca, who report that Everton are determined to sign the 22-year-old and have started talks with Villarreal once again.

The newspaper explains that earlier, initial conversations between Everton and Villarreal did not yield any results. The Toffees, however, are willing to improve their initial offer for the striker.

They know that they will have to come close to the striker’s €40m release clause to get him this summer. Marca have been able to confirm that Villarreal are willing to negotiate on that front.

They will discuss various payment options if they deem the figures are satisfactory and close to that €40m release clause. Villarreal will be even more open to doing so if Barry indicates that he wants to move. Reports yesterday stated that he would like to play in the Premier League.

The positive for Everton is that the Spanish side are willing to discuss payment options, suggesting they could do a deal in parts if the overall sum satisfies Villarreal.
