Man United boss in positive talks with£70 million midfield star

Man United boss Ruben Amorim is playing role in the squad rebuild. He has held positive talks with £70 million midfielder. This will come as a big boost for the Red Devils.

Manchester United are planning to improve their current squad after tough season. They have already started making moves by signing Cunha. In addition, they are close to sign Mbeumo who will be followed by clinical striker.

On the other hand, United do need some new additions in midfield too. They are set to part ways with Eriksen whereas Casemiro’s future is still uncertain. Hence, a new midfielder is set to arrive but the club should also focus on keeping hold of their talented stars.

One of them is Kobbie Mainoo. Earlier, the 20 year old was linked with shock move away from Old Trafford. The Red Devils were said to part ways with him for around £70 million. There were reports that the 20 year old has fallen out if favour due to rejecting new contract.

Mainoo has 2 years left on his current contract. Hence, United are keen to offer him extension. But, the 20 year old wants a significant rise in salary. This resulted in fallout between the two parties. But, the latest reports state otherwise.

According to Give Me Sport, there have been positive talks between United and Mainoo. Ruben Amorim has played a big role in talks as he rates Mainoo very highly in future plans. United are also likely to extend Mainoo’s contract soon where he will surely recieve pay-rise.

The report then adds that Mainoo is also keen to stay at Old Trafford. He wants to prove himself after the tough 2024/25 season. The 20 year old suffered serious injuries due to which his form dipped last season. He will now hope to rediscover his top form and help United to get back where they deserve.
