Mainoo has 2 years left on his current contract. Hence, United are keen to offer him extension. But, the 20 year old wants a significant rise in salary. This resulted in fallout between the two parties. But, the latest reports state otherwise.
According to Give Me Sport, there have been positive talks between United and Mainoo. Ruben Amorim has played a big role in talks as he rates Mainoo very highly in future plans. United are also likely to extend Mainoo’s contract soon where he will surely recieve pay-rise.

The report then adds that Mainoo is also keen to stay at Old Trafford. He wants to prove himself after the tough 2024/25 season. The 20 year old suffered serious injuries due to which his form dipped last season. He will now hope to rediscover his top form and help United to get back where they deserve.
