Arne Slot defied the odds in the 2024-25 Premier League season as he managed to bring the Premier League title back to Anfield at the first time of asking.
The Reds were one of the most dominant teams in the division, and it felt like they were levels above the vast majority of opponents they played.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Anfield outfit from looking into ways to strengthen their ranks with both Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong already getting brought in.
Indeed, these transfers are all well and good, but since Liverpool were already fairly dominant, these additions have only made them better and further cemented them as favourites to win the title.

This is a lot of pressure to place upon a fairly young team, but at the moment, that’s the way things have panned out.
Pat Nevin believes Arne Slot is now under ‘huge pressure’ at Liverpool to deliver
There’s no hiding from the fact that Wirtz is likely going to be the best signing of the window.
European powerhouses such as Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Real Madrid were all vying for his signature, but in the end, it was the Reds who emerged victorious.
And, although bringing in players of his calibre is a major statement of intent from Liverpool, BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin believes their arrivals will put Slot under some immense pressure next term.

“There is no such thing as a sure-fire winner in this business either, but I suspect Florian Wirtz is as close as you get in the modern game,” he wrote via the BBC Sport website.
“Liverpool have made costly errors before – Darwin Nunez is no longer worth the £85million the Reds paid for him, but that is an outlier. Generally, they have been as smart as any other in the market.
“But Wirtz is different – and so he should be at a princely £100million before add-ons.
“With Kerkez, the exciting Jeremie Frimpong and the fabulous Georgian keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, Arne Slot has put himself under huge pressure because just about everyone has them as favourites to retain their title.
“I wouldn’t argue with that for a second.”

Liverpool won’t be stopping at Florian Wirtz this summer
Although the tail-end of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign saw their form drop off, for the vast majority of the season, they were the team to beat.
The only player added to the first-team squad was Federico Chiesa, and by the end of the term, he was hardly given any playing time.
Not only does this outline how strong of a squad Jurgen Klopp left Slot upon his departure, but it also shows how much quality the Reds’ players have.

The Premier League tally that won Liverpool the league.
With Liverpool looking to sell off many of their players to recoup the money spent on transfers such as Wirtz, those who didn’t fulfil expectations will be the first on the chopping block.
Of course, those who are brought in will only improve Liverpool’s team, and, with the way that things seem to be headed, with over two months of the transfer window left, there are plenty more deals yet to come.
