A new NBA rumor claims Golden State Warriors division rivals, the Sacramento Kings, have interest in bringing Jonathan Kuminga to the capital this summer.
One of the biggest storylines in Dub Nation this summer is what happens with Kuminga in NBA free agency. The team used the seventh overall pick in 2021 on him in the hopes that he could turn into a long-term building block. And while he has shown signs of being an All-Star-level player, his immaturity and fractured relationship with coach Steve Kerr make a return unlikely.

Several teams have been linked to the forward in recent months. Including the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat. However, a surprising new contender emerged this week that is sure to get an eye roll from Warriors fans.
“League sources say the Kings are among the teams that have interest in Golden State’s Jonathan Kuminga. And will be monitoring his market when his restricted free agency begins,” The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported.
Seeing Kuminga jump ship to a division rival will certainly annoy Golden State fans. Especially if he were to head to Sac-Town and flourish under new full-time head coach Doug Christie. However, if he remains a headache, Dub Nation may relish the idea of the young forward causing trouble in the Sacramento locker room.
While it is a possibility, Amick claims that Kuminga taking his talents to the Kings is “unlikely.” To have any chance of signing the 22-year-old, they would first need to get DeMar DeRozan and the $50 million left on his deal off the books first.
