Browns Receive Head-Turning QB Prediction From Former NFL Star

The Cleveland Browns are going to be one of the most intriguing teams to watch during training camp and preseason action. They are entering a period where four quarterbacks will be battling for the starting quarterback job in Week 1.

Right now, the Browns have Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders involved in the competition.

All four quarterbacks have different cases to be made to be the starter. It seems like Flacco has the upper hand currently, but that could change quickly.

Ahead of training camp getting underway, a new prediction has come out about the Cleveland quarterback situation.

Former NFL star wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh spoke out with some intel that he learned from someone in the building for the Browns. He stated that the starting quarterback job will come down to Pickett or Gabriel, which will surprise many fans.

"I was told by somebody that's in the building, that ain't a player, it's really coming down to Kenny Pickett or Dillon Gabriel," Houshmandzadeh said.

To this point, Gabriel has not received a lot of positive press. It has been reported by Zac Jackson of The Athletic that the former Oregon standout has not looked like an NFL quarterback thus far.

"Dillon Gabriel does not look like an NFL quarterback to me, like, 0%, so I don't know what's going to happen," Jackson said.

Pickett was acquired in an offseason trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has shown flashes of major potential in the past, but has not been consistent. It's possible he could win the starting job, but he'll have to earn it with elite performance in training camp and the preseason.

Flacco was brought back in free agency and seems a good bet to begin the season as the starter. Sanders is a player the fans want to see on the field and he has already flashes big-time arm talent in rookie minicamp and mandatory camp as well.

Truthfully, there is no way to know at this point who the starting quarterback will be. Kevin Stefanski and the coaching staff will give all four players a chance to prove that they deserve the job.

It will be interesting to monitor the competition, especially in preseason games. All eyes will be on Cleveland to see what choice it makes under center.
