Report: Weah wants Juventus stay with Nottingham Forest move on hold

Tim Weah may not be off to Nottingham Forest after all.

Reports this week stated Juventus and Forest had reached a €22 million deal for both Weah and Samuel Mbangula to join the Premier League side.

But there was still the matter of the players agreeing to the deal, which is where there has reportedly been a snag.

According to Tuttosport, Weah is keen to stay with Juventus after turning in a career season in 2024-25.

The U.S. international scored six goals and added five assists in 43 appearances across all competitions for the Italian club. Weah wasn't able to carve out a regular starting role, but did manage 24 starts during the campaign.

Weah joined Juventus in 2023 from Lille, spending his first season with the Bianconeri playing mostly as a wingback. But he was restored to his more natural attacking role last season and delivered an improved campaign.

Weah is currently with Juventus at the FIFA Club World Cup, playing 45 minutes off the bench in the club's 5-0 win over Al Ain before he was an unused substitute in a 4-1 win over Wydad AC.

Juventus closes out the group stage on Thursday against Manchester City in Orlando.

With the double transfer on hold, Mbangula is considering other offers. In addition to Forest, both Bournemouth and an unnamed Bundesliga club have shown interest in the 21-year-old Belgian.
