Juventus have reached verbal agreement with one clinical striker. The player was on radar of Manchester United who are keen to sign a new striker. The Red Devils will view this as a major blow.
Man United are in desperate need of a new striker. They started the summer window with an aim of strengthening their attack. Firstly, they signed Matheus Cunha for whom they splashed £62.5 million. Now, they are set to complete the signing of Bryan Mbeumo who is set to cost them another £60 million.
United still need a striker who can score regularly to complete their final third. Both Hojlund and Zirkzee have been highly inconsistent. They are both linked with away moves and the Red Devils are linked with multiple striker. One of them is Canada international who can be signed for free this summer.
The star in question here is Jonathan David. He is 25 year old and his contract with Lille has ended this summer. David has been very consistent for the Ligue 1 side ever since joining them. In the 2024/25 season, he scored 25 goals and picked 12 assists due to which he has attracted interest from multiple clubs.
United are amongst the clubs interested to sign David this summer. The 25 yeat old can add more quality and lift their attack to next level. In addition, he can be signed for free which will be very useful for the Red Devils especially in tough financial time. But, the player is now edging closer to join Serie A giants.

According to Caught Offside, Juve have reached verbal agreement with Jonathan David. The Canada international has agreed to a salary of €6 million per year which will potentially raise to €7-8 million with add-ons. Hence, the player is now very close to sign for Italian giants.
United do have other strikers available in transfer market. But, they could have signed David on free transfer. Their other targets like Gyokeres and Ekitike are set to cost a hefty transfer fee. It will be intersting to see who will be Amorim’s new number nine.
