Manchester City and Juventus could finish on the same number of points in their Club World Cup group.

Here is what would happen if Manchester City and Juventus finish on the same number of points in their Club World Cup group.

Man City and Juventus enter their Group G showdown level on points (6), with both teams winning their opening two games of the competition.

The Premier League side beat Wydad AC 2-0 before destroying Al Ain 6-0, while the Serie A outfit thrashed Al Ain 5-0 before beating Wydad AC 4-1.

That means Man City and Juve could both finish on seven points if they play out a draw in today's clash at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida,

If Man City and Juve finish on equal points, then the following criteria is applied to determine who takes top spot.

Superior goal difference resulting from the group matches between Man City and Juve will take precedent to determine who tops Group G.

But as both Man City and Juve have a positive goal difference of eight, then the greatest number of goals scored in all group matches will separate the two sides.

As it stands, the Blues have scored eight goals - one fewer than The Old Lady, who have bagged nine goals.

So, if Man City and Juve ends in a draw, then the Italian giants will top Group G, having scored more goals than their counterparts.

That underlines how important a victory is for Pep Guardiola's team if they want to avoid playing Real Madrid in the last-16 stage.

Real appear destined to top Group H as they face Red Bull Salzburg in their final game of the group stage round.

The La Liga club drew their opening fixture against Al Hilal before beating Pachuca.

The winners of Group H face the runner-up of Group G in the next round, meaning it could be Real vs. Man City.

But if Man City beat Juventus, then that could set up a last-16 meeting against either Salzburg or Al Hilal, who could snatch second if they beat Pachuca and the Austrian side lose to Real.
