Manchester United's proposed move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo could accelerate shortly, Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT - with the Red Devils believing that they can get a deal done within the 'next days and hours' to add the Cameroonian star to their ranks ahead of pre-season.
Reports emerged that United were aiming to get the winger into their ranks before July 7th, which is when they are set to return to pre-season, in order to bed him into Ruben Amorim's tactical plans to avoid another poor campaign. United only finished 15th in the Premier League last season, failing to secure European football after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur last month, and that could have had serious implications in terms of recruitment this summer.

However, despite their downfalls, they have already tempted Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha to the club, and they could look to do the same with Mbeumo, with the size of the club and their pull being advantageous to any deal.

And with that in mind, Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT that conversations for Mbeumo are 'ongoing', with United having improved their bid to over £60million a few days ago - with a deal advancing so well that Romano believes United are confident they will get a deal done in the coming 'days and hours'. He said:
"There are conversations ongoing. So talks continue between Manchester United and Brentford, they improved their bid to over £60million as a package a few days ago.
"So the conversation is now ongoing over the structure of the deal, the add-ons, the payment terms - all important, still important details of this deal, but it's advancing quite well.
"Manchester United are quite confident to get it over the line in the next days and hours."
Mbeumo would be a magnificent capture, having scored 20 Premier League goals last season - and his potential arrival would easily fix their goalscoring woes from last season, where they only scored 44 in the league, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee only combining for a combined seven.
A striker coming in alongside the Bees' hero would certainly transform their attack and give Amorim the tools needed to convert United back into a European-challenging side.
