Ipswich Town defender Axel Tuanzebe is set to sign for newly-promoted Premier League club on a Bosman free transfer.
As per The Athletic's David Ornstein, the 27-year-old is currently undergoing a medical at Turf Moor ahead of his Ipswich contract expiring next Monday.
It's understood that the Blues offered the former Manchester United man an attractive new deal. However, his desire to remain the Premier League, coupled with a chance to move back north, meant an agreement couldn't be reached.
