Brentford’s Fabio Carvalho should consider a move to Benfica this summer, as it would be good for him and his career.
That’s according to his brother and representative, Diogo Carvalho, who has been talking up the idea of a move for the 22-year-old to [Renascença](https://rr.pt/bola-branca/noticia/benfica/2025/06/26/seria-a-melhor-decisao-irmao-de-fabio-carvalho-revela-interesse-do-benfica/430545/?utm_medium=rss).
According to his information the Portuguese giants are interested in the Brentford midfielder, and he thinks he should seriously consider it.
“I was told that Benfica are interested and without a doubt \[he is too\]. It’s the right thing for him to do, it would be the best decision, and I think he would be a good help for Benfica,” he is quoted as saying.
The question is whether Brentford would accept the deal, given the midfielder only arrived from Liverpool in a €20mdeal last summer.
He failed to establish himself in Thomas Frank’s squad this season, starting just three times in 19 games and managing two goals and one assist in those appearances.
It was a continuation of what had happened at Anfield, where he had struggled to break through after joining from Fulham. He was loaned out to Leipzig and Hull before being sold to Brentford.
They now have to decide if they want to sell to Benfica, if a serious bid arrives, and Diogo Carvalho thinks that they should.
“It will be complicated, but it would be good for Fábio and for Benfica, €10m for a player of my brother’s quality would not be that high,” he added.
