Manchester United’s transfer window is off to a blinder in terms of incomings, with Ruben Amorim sure to be delighted.
This summer, Ineos were always going to be busy.
Manchester United’s squad needed to be revamped after a pretty disappointing campaign in which Ruben Amorim could only take the club to 15th.
To improve in the 2025-26 season, United requires significant changes to the playing personnel over the summer transfer window.
From early in his reign, Amorim knew his United team needed more physicality. This lack of physical quality in the team has plagued United for years, even under Ralf Rangnick back in 2022.
However, with Amorim’s style of football demanding physicality, the need has only grown over the past eight months. To address this, Amorim made one demand of Ineos this summer.

Ruben Amorim asked Ineos to focus on Premier League signings
With Amorim quickly realising that his squad needed physicality, this summer presents an opportunity for Ineos to provide the head coach with what he needed.
Well, according to Rich Fay from Manchester World, Amorim’s demands to Ineos this summer were clear and have led to the exciting business done in the window.
The report claims that Amorim expressed his preference for United to sign Premier League-proven players this summer.

Amorim believes that by recruiting players with experience in the Premier League, United will improve the overall fitness and athleticism within his team.
This is after feeling that physicality proved a determining factor in the struggles of last season.
Jason Wilcox is two for two at Manchester United this summer
Amorim wants United to invest in players who possess the qualities to play in the Premier League, which is something United has not done in recent years.
United have focused on Premier League-proven signings this summer, with Matheus Cunha starring for Wolves in the league last season.
Additionally, Bryan Mbeumo has had three brilliant seasons in the Premier League for Brentford. These two additions are huge for United and could make a world of difference in attack next season.
So far, Jason Wilcox is two for two on his signings, meeting Amorim’s demands in that both are Premier League-proven and physical standouts.
Next, Amorim wants an athletic midfielder who also fits the bill of his demands for physicality. This may yet come in the form of another Premier League signing this summer, with Aston Villa’s Amadou Onana fitting the bill perfectly.
