Chelsea are very busy in the summer transfer window. They have been linked with big moves in both directions. Amidst this, their 24 year old star finds his future uncertain at West London. Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided key update about his future.
The star in question here is Nicolas Jackson. He has been with Chelsea since summer 2023. The Blues signed him as a promising youngster but the deal has not fully worked out. The Senegal international has failed to stay consistent and has recorded only 30 goals in 80 games.
The Blues have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. The 22 year old costed them only £30 million as the Tractor Boys were relegated. This has given them chance to sign another striker. The West London club is monitoring striker with different profile.
As of now, Chelsea have Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro as top targets. Ekitike is 22 years old and plays for Frankfurt. The German club wants €100 million for him. On the other hand, Pedro is 23 years old and plays for Brighton. The Seagulls want around €70 million for him.
The West London club do have purse left to sign another striker. But, they also need to comply with PSR. Hence, there are reports that they may part ways with Nicolas Jackson. The 24 year old is being looked upon by multiple Italian clubs. But, Romano has now reported a key update on the situation.
Fabrizio Romano with key update on Jackson’s future at Chelsea
According to Fabrizio Romano, it will not be easy for Italian clubs to sign Jackson. He said that it will be hard for them to even approach Chelsea or Jackson at the moment. He added that the Blues will never even sit at the table for €40-45 million.
Chelsea will want much more than the above mentioned price. But, the interested clubs will hesitate to pay big price for the 24 year old. Jackson’s form has dipped recently and in addition, he has suffered some injury issues. Hence, his future at Stamford Bridge still stays in air.
