A Manchester United first-team player has opened up about his playing spell at Old Trafford during the managerial reigns of Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag.
Ruben Amorim became Manchester United’s sixth permanent manager in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era after he left his head coach role at Sporting CP in 2024.
The 40-year-old United manager took over at the Red Devils during the 2024-25 Premier League season after former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag was sacked by the club.
Erik ten Hag had entered his third season as United head coach after Ineos had awarded the 55-year-old Dutchman a new contract extension last summer.
However, the soon-to-be Bayer Leverkusen manager oversaw a difficult start to the 2024-25 campaign and Ten Hag was dismissed from his role at United last October.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was assistant manager under Ten Hag at Old Trafford, was installed as interim manager ahead of Amorim’s arrival last November.

Christian Eriksen speaks out on Man Utd playing spell under Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag ahead of his Old Trafford exit
Christian Eriksen first signed for Manchester United in 2022 on a free transfer after the former Ajax and Inter Milan star left Premier League side Brentford.
The 33-year-old Danish midfielder was a key midfield influence in his debut season at Old Trafford under ex-United manager Erik ten Hag and impressed at the time.
But Christian Eriksen’s influence waned during his subsequent seasons at Old Trafford and the Denmark international’s first-team minutes at United were limited.
Eriksen later played a role under Ruben Amorim after Ten Hag was axed and the former Tottenham ace believes that he signed off his spell with a “perfect finish.”
“I think it was [a fitting way to finish], taking into account the season it’s been,” he told MUTV, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“But the perfect finish to my three years at United.”
“It’s been special. So, yeah, to go out with a goal and a win, and a bit of smile on everyone’s faces, was really nice.”
