'They will soon'- Viktor Gyokeres has ambitious Man United prediction under Ruben Amorim

Manchester United remain in the race for Viktor Gyokeres and it seems the Swedish striker is still open to the move.

The top priority at Manchester United currently is getting a deal finalised for Bryan Mbeumo after a second bid worth £60m was submitted.

After that, there are only a few missing pieces to the transfer puzzle. Amorim wants an “athletic midfielder” signed as well as a new centre-forward.

Viktor Gyokeres is open to reuniting with Amorim, but there have been some concerns about Gyokeres preferring to join Arsenal.

While Arsenal weigh up whether or not to make a move for the Sporting Lisbon forward, Viktor Gyokeres has not shut down the idea of moving to Old Trafford.

Viktor Gyokeres backs Man United to return to the top

When United lost the Europa League final and missed out on Champions League football, there were concerns that the Gyokeres deal would completely collapse.

However, Gyokeres is open to joining United without Europe and while part of that may be down to his connection with Amorim, he is also a huge admirer of the club.

As per TeamTalk, Gyokeres is happy to join United this summer if the opportunity arises, as he is confident in the club’s ability to rebuild.

The report reads: “Gyokeres views United as one of the most illustrious clubs in the world and believes they will soon get back in the mix for European qualification and trophies.”

If working with Amorim again wasn’t already tempting, Gyokeres could now be the final piece of United’s new-look attack alongside Cunha and (hopefully) Mbeumo.

Viktor Gyokeres’ Arsenal dream will ring alarm bells for Ineos

Earlier this season, Amorim warned United only want players who are desperate to join, and so far this summer that hasn’t really been the case with Gyokeres.

It has always felt as if United have been second choice to the Swedish striker, with his priority being a move to Arsenal.

Cunha described United as a “dream” move, while Mbeumo only wanted United from the very beginning of his transfer saga. That is the kind of player that United need moving forward.

Gyokeres is willing to go on strike to force a move this summer, but United should never accept being second best.
