CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Bengals and Hamilton County have reportedly reached a deal to keep the team in Cincinnati.
Not only does it keep the Bengals playing at Paycor but the stadium will get an upgrade. However, it is less than the Bengals originally wanted.
The deal calls for $470 million worth of stadium improvements.
That's scaled back from the $830 million proposed in April.
The new lease agreement is for 10 years with options for five two-year extensions.
The county will contribute $350 million and the team's share would be $120 million for those improvements.
This vote is for the framework of the deal, not the final lease.
The new terms come just before the June 30 deadline the Bengals had to extend their current lease. Commissioners will vote on the actual lease agreement once attorneys have finished writing it.
The county and the team will continue to seek state funding.
