The Oklahoma City Thunder recently completed a dominant run, culminating in an NBA Championship. Many speculated the Thunder could've been one of the teams to watch out for entering the season after falling to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference semifinals in 2024. They came in with a seeming chip on their shoulder, and they played like it.
They went on to finish with the league's best overall record, thus clinching home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Some believed the NBA Finals would be a short one, as the Thunder were coming off a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals. Home-court advantage proved to be crucial, as the Indiana Pacers pushed the Thunder to seven games in the NBA Finals.

Thunder fans in agreement after viral Thomas Sorber video
While many within the Thunder organization likely let out a sigh of relief amid their celebration of their first championship on Sunday evening, many were still hard at work preparing for Wednesday's NBA Draft. With the Thunder roster as deep as it is, it may be tough to pinpoint positions of genuine need.
Armed with the No. 15 pick, the Thunder selected Georgetown's Thomas Sorber. Sorber had gone viral after posting a dance video to TikTok from his hotel room during the NBA Combine.
The video amassed 36.9k viewers on TikTok, and the above clip posted to X from @thunderfanrylee has 171k views. Thunder fans can't wait for Sorber to join their culture, evidenced by some of the comments below the X post.
"There is no end to the amount of love he deserves," said one fan.
"Fits right in," said another.
"It was meant to be," another fan said.
"Culture pick," claimed one fan.
Sorber stands at 6-foot-10, 255 lbs. In his lone year at Georgetown, he averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He made the Big East All-Freshman team, as well as a Third-team All-Big East selection. Considering how impressive Sam Presti has been with his draft selections, it wouldn't shock many Thunder fans to see Sorber pan out and contribute early.
