Bryan Mbeumo is close to joining Man United this summer
Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly close to completing a move to , and his Brentford teammate Yoane Wissa has already made his feelings clear.
The Manchester Evening News understands that . Their initial £55m offer was rejected, but the 25-year-old is now expected to join.
has also reported that Brentford are trying to receive slightly more than the £62.5m that United paid for. The two clubs are reportedly in talks over the structure and terms of the add-ons in move.
Brentford are seeking over £7m in add-ons to ensure the total fee surpasses what Wolves received for Cunha. It’s understood the Bees are aiming for a final figure of around £63m.
In May, former manager Thomas Frank warned that his sale would need to be for a substantial fee. "It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount," Frank said.
"It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot. Then it is clear that it is impossible to replace him one for one. It cannot be done. There is a reason why he costs x number of million pounds, and we do not have x number of million pounds to buy for."
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, June 26, Fabrizio Romano shared an update on the current state of play, writing: "Manchester United are now confident to get Mbeumo deal done after progress. Negotiations underway after the new bid in excess of £60m… and agreement now close also with Brentford.
"Bryan Mbeumo already agreed personal terms weeks ago, he’s pushing for his dream move to Man United."
