Leeds United have signed a player from the Bundesliga this summer, and one from Serie A. Despite reports that the club would focus on Premier League experience, the targets have been outside England.
Lukas Nmecha’s deal was completed within hours of being announced. The German forward will join on a free transfer next week. Jaka Bijol also completed his move from Italy on Monday. Despite the deal dragging on, and Udinese being stubborn over the fee, the club managed to get a decent price for the Slovenian international.

The Italian club’s Sporting Director was even happy to see the deal go through:
“I think he deserves it, because a year ago there was a lot of talk about him,” he said.
“The coach and I really wanted him to stay, but that’s football. I wish him the best. He’s already done well this year, he’s also grown as a leader.”

The Whites are set to look to the Serie A for another signing. Nikola Krstovic has been on the club’s radar this past week, with Leeds holding talks with Lecce over a move. An initial agreement was reached, but the problem seemed to be convincing the player to move. Krstovic wants to stay in Italy, but a move is still likely.
Solo Lecce are reporting that Leeds are ‘close’ to a full agreement for a deal worth £25million. Krstovic is still unconvinced by a move to England, and sees the Whites as a ‘yo-yo’ club; he does not want to be relegated. The report does however indicate a higher wage package could persuade the striker.
Krstovic can be a one-man attack
The 25-year old carried the Lecce attack on his back this season, contributing 16 of the club’s 27 goals. His strikes came from brilliant hold up play and just being aggressive in the box. Krstovic had the most shots among strikers in Serie A this season.
Leeds can do with a striker like that, who is not afraid to shoot or get on the end of chances.
