Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United may have become clearer thanks to a recent transfer update.
Rashford has been heavily linked with a move away from United this summer after spending the second half of last season at Aston Villa on loan. United included an option to buy worth £40million as part of the agreement with Villa, which as of yet has not been activated.
A host of clubs have been linked with signing Rashford this summer, whether that be on a permanent basis or on loan.
United would prefer a permanent deal for the England international, which would allow those funds to go towards strengthening Ruben Amorim's squad for next term.
Barcelona have been mentioned as having an interest in signing Rashford this summer. A fresh update has emerged from the La Liga outfit that may go on to affect Rashford's future.
A video posted by journalist Victor Navarro on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows Barcelona star Ansu Fati arriving at an airport. It has been claimed that Fati is set to travel to France to complete a loan move to Monaco this summer.
With Fati set to leave the Camp Nou, a spot in the squad may open up for Rashford. Both Fati and Rashford are often utilised on the left wing, so the departure of the Spain international may create room in the Barca squad for Barcelona to sign Rashford this summer.
Barcelona are also reportedly close to signing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao on a permanent deal.
It remains to be seen if the La Liga giants would want to sign both Williams and Rashford this summer, but Fati's departure could free up room in the left-wing spot in the squad to bring the United star to Spain.
