Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres both appear to be desperate for a move to Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal super fan Piers Morgan has lost his patience with the Gunners’ transfer window, taking to social media platform X this week to blast the club’s ‘inexplicable failure’ to sign a striker yet.

Luckily, the hot-headed 60-year-old isn’t in charge of the Arsenal recruitment strategy. That task falls to experienced sporting director Andrea Berta and the former Atletico Madrid chief appears to be conducting an almost perfect window.

The more straightforward deals are progressing nicely. Bringing in Christian Norgaard from Brentford for a reported £10 million has happened in rapid time while Kepa Arrizabalaga is to arrive from Chelsea for just £5 million.

It was important for Arsenal to get both those moves done quickly with other clubs interested. The search for a new striker is a different kettle of fish.

It’s clear at this point that RB Leipzig man Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres are the prime targets for Berta. Other European giants, including Premier League rivals Manchester United, have also been linked with those bagsmen. However, there’s no need to panic for Arsenal. It appears both those players are desperate to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Gyokeres’ preference of working under Mikel Arteta rather than former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim has been well reported. Now, Sesko appears to have taken to an almost childish game to make it clear that he also wants to lead the line at Arsenal.

Benjamin Sesko follows Arsenal on Instagram

Just as a teenager may do to catch the attention of a classmate, as spotted by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Sesko has followed Arsenal on social media platform Instagram. The 22-year-old will have known that would be spotted and it seems to be a ‘come get me’ message for the Gunners.

Romano wrote: “New social media hint by Benjamin Šeško as the striker has started following Arsenal on Instagram today.”

While Morgan and some Arsenal supporters may want action now, it’s proof of how attractive the project at the Emirates Stadium is to strikers. There’s a gaping hole to lead the line in north London and the chance to arrive and immediately become the main man at on of Europe’s very biggest outfits is not to be scoffed at.

Gyokeres and Sesko know that. Both talented finishers, the strikers will be licking their lips at the chance to play in front of Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, so it’s no wonder to see the social media games to make it clear they want the move.

Gyokeres does not yet follow Arsenal on Instagram but Gunners fan account Arsenal Pulse spotted that the striker does follow a London-based company called Elite Dogs Protection, which could also point to an intention to make the move to London.
