Manchester United’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo is one step closer to being complete, with the Brentford attacker now having his medical assessment in place.
The Red Devils have managed to successfully beat the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur to land their second major signing of the summer.
Whilst The Magpies were put off by Mbeumo’s request for a wage of £250,000 per week, Spurs were still gunning for his signature.

This push was led by Thomas Frank who moved from Brentford to Tottenham, looking to see his star attacker join him in the move.
However, Mbeumo only had eyes for a move to Old Trafford, with the prospect of being a part of Ruben Amorim’s project to lead the club back to it’s successful ways being too much of a lure.
Now, with a second bid of £60 million plus add-ons having been accepted by Brentford, and personal terms agreed with Mbeumo, United have the green light to schedule his medical and subsequent contract signing to get the deal over the line.
Alex Crook and Ben Jacobs of talkSPORT have reported that Mbeumo’s medical is expected to take place next week, seeing the Cameroon international become a Manchester United player at last.

Mbeumo joins Matheus Cunha as to new faces in Amorim’s attacking trio, with a striker still to be signed this summer.
It’s been reported today that United have also been given a huge boost on this front as Viktor Gyokeres has given his priority to The Red Devils as Arsenal seem to be favouring Benjamin Sesko instead.
The reunion between Gyokeres and Amorim could be the final piece of the Portuguese manager’s attacking puzzle to get The Red Devils scoring consistently once more.
