Oh, you thought the Phoenix Suns were done? You thought Brian Gregory had hung up his second apron, wiped his hands, and called it a night? Think again. The man’s still in the kitchen, and the burners are just heating up.
Earlier today, the Suns flipped two future second-round picks to Brooklyn for the 36th overall pick. Smart move. The Nets, having already collected five fresh bodies in the first round like they were stockpiling for the basketball apocalypse, had no use for more youth. So Phoenix swoops in, takes the pick, and you figure, OK, they’re content.
But no.
Armed with picks 52 and 59, what do the Suns do? They strike again.
The Phoenix Suns are trading the Nos. 52 and 59 picks to the Golden State Warriors for No. 41, sources tell ESPN.

That’s right. The Suns packaged picks 52 and 59 and moved up to grab the 41st overall pick. Now it gets fun.
Phoenix already made noise at the top of the draft, selecting Khaman Maluach at No. 10 and flipping their 29th pick for a starting-caliber center in Mark Williams. Add in the earlier trade with Brooklyn for pick No. 36, and suddenly the Suns are armed with 36 and 41 in the second round, prime real estate for finding rotational gold.
Who might they be targeting? I broke that down earlier today, so make sure to check out that piece. But just know this: the Suns aren’t done, baby. Not even close. The draft board is still warm, and Brian Gregory is still cooking.
