Barca to miss out on Perisic as veteran to renew with PSV

Ivan Perisic has been linked with a shock move to Barcelona this summer but appears set to stay at PSV after all.

The veteran Croatian had emerged as a possible option for Hansi Flick’s side and there was talk he could join on a free transfer.

Yet it’s now being reported he will stay on at PSV. Fabrizio Romano says the attacker will sign a two-year deal, with Barca’s attentions firmly focused on Nico Williams instead.

Barcelona are expected to try and activate Williams’ release clause next week and bring him to the club from Athletic.

The Basques aren’t happy about the situation, claiming the transfer should be blocked as Barca aren’t at the 1:1 rule, a stance Joan Laporta has criticised.

Nico does still look set to join the club shortly along with Roony Bardghj, but it’s not clear if there will be any more signings this summer.
