Cavs take Duke guard in 2nd round of NBA draft

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Tyrese Proctor of Duke, a 6-5 guard, was the Cavs pick at #49 overall in Thursday’s second round of the NBA draft.

Cleveland still has the 58th pick tonight but did not have a first-round pick in this draft.

Proctor, 21, played 3 seasons for the Blue Devils, averaging 10.8 ppg.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have selected Duke's Tyrese Proctor with the No. 49 pick. They will be rostering this pick.

He’s originally from Australia and should be suiting up for the Cavs in the NBA summer league beginning July 10 in Las Vegas.

The Cavs (+650) have the 3rd-best odds to win the 2026 NBA title.
