The second round had only 29 selections instead of the usual 30 because the New York Knick forfeited the No. 56 pick when an NBA investigation found that the Knicks tampered with Jalen Brunson before signing him as a free agent in June 2022. New York had contacted Brunson and agreed to a four-year, $104 million contract before the league's official free agency period began.
